Zeegolf Hotel — white Dutch-colonial facade with teak balconies, Galle Fort

Refined
Stays

Upper verandah with hanging lanterns and carved teak chairs

Zeegolf is a single house, not a chain: seven rooms across two floors of a 1910s Dutch-colonial home, a stone's throw from the ramparts and the lighthouse.

Downstairs, arched windows and original timber shutters open onto the street. Upstairs, a long verandah with lanterns and teak chairs looks over the Fort's terracotta roofs. Everything is kept simple, clean and quiet — the way a home should feel.

The Zeegolf story is over a hundred years old.

Three
Generations

  1. 01

    Sydney · 1910s

When our grandfather Sydney moved to Galle Fort with his family, Zeegolf was only a small house with a stable. Local travellers stayed the night, and the home slowly became a favourite stopping place under British-era Ceylon.

  2. 02

    Mallika · The Yellow House

His daughter Mallika, trained in hospitality with a decade of experience, turned the house into a proper home-stay with professional service and amenities. Guests knew it simply as the "Yellow House", after the colour of its walls.

  3. 03

    Manuja · Today

Her nephew Manuja now runs the house, shaped by years of guest feedback: a boutique hotel with modern comforts that keeps the original Dutch architecture and the culture of the Fort intact. The 1910s structure still stands, and is well looked after.

Seven rooms on two floors, each a little different. All air-conditioned, ensuite, with free Wi-Fi.
